Ozone Mixing Key to Disinfection - AQUA Magazine To minimize health concerns like Legionella and chloramines, service techs are adding ozone systems to bromine and chlorine units to keep water healthy and balanced.

The Center for Disease Control's (CDC) Model Aquatic Health Code states:

"Due to the risk of outbreaks of Recreational Water Illnesses (RWIs) associated with sanitizer-resistant pathogens such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia, it is strongly recommended that all aquatic facilities include Secondary Disinfection Systems (SDSs) to minimize the risk to the public associated with these outbreaks."
