This portrait was from a photograph I took of our son a few years ago, and I worked on it under the mentorship of . I enjoyed learning Tim’s process of painting portraits and learned so much!

This painting was the last of a series of portraits I did of each of our three kids. One (completed a few years ago) was in the Portrait Society of Atlanta’s exhibition this last spring, and the other was just juried in and accepted into the PSA’s upcoming exhibition. I enjoy capturing these glimpses of their childhood… these moments are precious to a parent!

Family day at Line Creek! The kids gave me a couple (relatively) uninterrupted hours to paint while they floated down the creek. Hoping to get some more plein air opportunities before the heat and humidity of summer arrive…
