"I am drawn to the issue of youth homelessness because I see so much of myself in the young people I work with. But they have encountered challenges I cannot even begin to imagine, and they have overcome them with unbelievable courage and resilience. I am deeply grateful to have the opportunity to make these amazing young people’s paths to independence a little bit easier." - Brendan Taliaferro, Founder of the Homeward Initiative

Brendan won the President's Engagement Prize before graduating from the University of Pennsylvania last year. The prize allowed him to start the Homeward Initiative and pursue his goals of assisting LGBTQ homeless youth in Philadelphia. He's so excited to meet prospective hosts and youth, so feel free to reach out if you have any questions or want to introduce yourself!
