I posted this on NextDoor. Trying to help a lovely guitar find her way home. I‘ma give it 60 days or so, but then it’ll find a new home among my music programs for mental health healing. UpHEAL Innertamement, LLC is an artistic and entertainment venture, organized and incorporated in the state of Georgia in October 2019. Essentially, the company is a melding of my 38+ years of various talents and experience in the arts (piano, songwriting, acting, poetry, theatre/film and writing/publishing) and marrying them to my humanitarian “calling.” While entertainment is the core of this organization, the UI approach to the arts is framed with a restorative and therapeutic focus.
The work of UI focuses on various multimedia forms (film, TV, music, books) as well as live productions. Drawing from the programs and needs of existing and newfound mental health initiatives, our goal is to offer affordable programs tailored to high-needs and at-risk populations. {Think drama therapy, music therapy, dance therapy and visual arts therapy.} To this end, we seek to provide on-site, interactive arts “innertamement” to battered women’s shelters, orphanages, veteran facilities with PTSD survivors, senior homes, teen group homes, homeless shelters, neglected and abused children’s facilities, faith-based organizations, corporate events and more.
We strive to be engaging, enlightening and empowering, but ultimately “taming” or, more aptly, HEALING the “inner” (wo)man. I welcome your ideas and suggestions, as UpHEAL Innertamement is, at its core, a collaborative and cooperative venture. Let's heal together!
