When hometown legends see their hometown in need they don't just send condolences. They do not just wish they could do something to help. They go out there and do what needs to be done. This legend did not have to go back personally, he could have just donated and left it at that. Fortunately for Mayfield, Kentucky they had Luis Pardo.

Active military and veterans are not the only individuals who sacrifice or feel the absence of their loved ones this holiday season. America lost a major hometown legend this morning. From solider to Us Secretary of State, General Powell had dedicated most of his life to serving the people of this nation. We will never forget that calm and steady hand you provided to our service men and women in truly trying times. Rest on Peace General.
