A Mindful Ride
02/19/2020
When someone has experienced an accident and/or trauma, be concerned in asking how that person, friend or family member is affected to better understand how you may support. Assess your behavior(s) as that may impact someone being able to be around you.
For instance, if you are loud, bossy, feel the need to over-correct and/or be anything that does not align with what an injured person may need and/or be able to handle, you may be seen as a challenge.
Remember, it is not about you. Sometimes people think that because they offer their help that one should take all that comes with it and that is just exhausting. In whatever you are offering, have it be truly unconditional and selfless. Get out of your feelings, as injured people have so much more to deal with while recovering.
