ENHANCED MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES FOR STUDENTS IN NEED
A concentrated effort must be made to accurately identify, diagnose, and provide strong treatment services for students who have moderate to significant mental health issues. “All students” in this category should be closely monitored, but not targeted or profiled.
Underdiagnosis, or the absence of a mental health diagnosis, cheats not only those students who may fall in this category, but makes it extremely difficult for educators to make best use of their time with the total student body.

SECURE CLASSROOMS
Students should be able to focus totally on academic achievement while in the classroom without distraction, fear of being bullied, or anxious feelings about the classroom environment. This can be achieved in part with additional monitors, smaller classes, and a frequent review of the total system in place for student security. What worked today may be outdated next month.
