-Uncharted Waters

Deep.

Lost within a trench
Dug a few feet steeper than the secrets
you’ll tuck within your casket.

Surrounded by forgotten pieces of myself that have now dissolved into fragments.

Deep.

Holding the loudest amount of silence I could ever imagine within this package.

Deeper than that conversation at 3:33am
regarding new manifestations, dimensional shifts, and time traveling.

Deep.

Deeper than a transatlantic wave that told the stories of fallen captives.

Deeper than the white fragility of a republican’s pockets and the privilege that’s often sold separately.

Deep.

Deeper than a Supreme Court Judge’s ruling and the impact of its longevity.

Deep.

Like the results of a positive pregnancy test
that was the product of two negatives; nonconsensual in**st.

Deep.

Like the abuser being a habitual user of needles while consuming every fluid liter
that she posses.

Deep.

Like unreachable targeted teachings dedicated to the youth.
2 weeks of self defense courses just to draw
the conclusion of which hand is the best hand
They’ll use to shoot.

1821-
(They Come To Me At Night Pt.2)

Your life has been so devalued that your history has been washed.

Laid out on the clothes line
Hangs an exit sign
Baring names for every life, that was lost.

Initials sketched on the exterior corner
Allows reflection time for those who need a warning.
Souvenirs of dead men delivered to their kin
like their favorite papers in the morning.

The price of admission for any lynching
Is a five finger discount.
What a sinister way on how to display
An improper performance of a dismount.

Unfathomable to conceive
That the life of a bronco and the noose
in the tree have more value than me.

I guess those words “two-thirds”
Can still be heard by
politicians and blue lives matter birds
that kill in the street then fly and retreat
to their nest tucked delicately in the suburbs.

What year is this?

Allow me to be clear.
Even when I speak with vibrant colors
There’s a death frequency within my ears.

What more do you need to see
Before you actually start to listen?

I wrote this for you, with my ancestors’ permission.
