October is Breast Cancer Awareness!
I am aware of Breast Cancer everyday. I live through every scar, and trauma that my body feels constantly. That's the caveat, I Live!
I am more than my scars or my missing girls. I am a Black Woman that has learned to love myself, even in the midst of not recognizing my body.

Sometimes I am still angry, because of the doctor, who did not keep the promise to wait for the pathology report and cut out lymph nodes unnecessarily causing lymphedema in my arm. Or the sharp stabbing pain because of this action. Sometimes, I still desire to go to his office and wait until he finishes with his patients and jump him in the parking lot. (I really want to hit him in the face with a shovel.)
What I perform instead is writing and working to help other advocate for themselves. It's challenging, because most of us are so indoctrinated into thinking the doctors know it all.
Newsflash!
They really don't know as much as we give them credit for, really. Because, they have been taught to treat just the disease and not the person. If you ever have a diagnosis of Breast Cancer, please advocate for yourself! Please, Please, Please, perform the research required to receive the best care.
No one knows your body better than you! If your mind tells you that the doctor isn't good for you just leave.
Now, there are forty different types of Breast Cancer. Your treatment should be based on the type you have. You must know the type of Breast Cancer you are being treated for, it's crucial.
My Oncologist, and the Surgeon tried to push me into Chemotherapy. Fortunately, I was paying attention and read every report and my tumor pathology. Plus, I was paying attention to clinical trials and new medications. I said, No to the Chemo!
My Oncologist was upset and my Internist was upset too.

The tumor pathology report stated, I had a triple positive breast cancer. Except, the report also stated, it was not conclusive! WTH!!! I took this report to my Internist (A Wonderful Brown Sister with an infectious laugh) and asked her to read this with me. Sometimes when we are under duress, our minds can run amok and I needed to ensure I was seeing and reading this correctly. Indeed, she confirmed what was printed on the page in small letters at the bottom of the report. (This report is not conclusive.)

The test to pinpoint the type of Breast Cancer a person can have is the OncoType DX test! I requested this test be performed when I had my follow-up visit with the Oncologist. She balked, and said, "The results take 6 to 8 weeks." I told her, we will wait, no one is giving me infusion Chemo until I know exactly what we are dealing with. Why go through Chemo Hell, if you don't need it????
The OncoType DX test results:
I didn't have a triple positive breast cancer!!! Let that sink in for a moment.
The cancer was an estrogen receptive positive (ER+) type of tumor. Here's the good part, the TAILORx clinical trial was a ten year study of Women with ER+ breast cancer and found that 78% of them did not benefit from Chemo!!!! https://www.cancer.gov/news-events/press-releases/2018/tailorx-breast-cancer-chemotherapy

Millions of dollars in unnecessary treatment, violent reactions to the most radical medicine, because folks didn't know about the study or to ask for the test!!! My own Doctors didn't know about the Clinical trials or the study until I pulled it up on my computer. Even with this information the Oncologist still tried to give me Chemo!!!! This is why folks must research and advocate for themselves, especially Black Women...
Now, let's get to the happy part. Next month is three years since I took my last pill. Eight years total on this breast cancer journey. We have new advances in the fight against Breast Cancer. It's my pleasure to introduce to you, Dr. Hadiyah Nicole Green! She has made a stunning breakthrough in the treatment of Breast Cancer. Ignorance is not bliss and Apathy is not a solution.

Apathy and Ignorance will lead us on the path to destruction. We currently live in a society where most of its citizens can't comprehend information on the level of a seventh grade student. Disinformation is the cause of our national divide. We disparage those that tell the truth. (I miss you Walter Cronkite.)
Will we be like S***m and Gomorrah? Ruined because of our pious nature, our inhospitality to the poor, and orphaned, or our disregard for our elders. (Oh you thought is was about them being homosexual) Read Ezekiel 17 for more clarity.

We call ourselves a Christian Nation, that what a majority of us say America is, and that is what we stand for. If this facts or feeling? The First Amendment, which said that there should be “no law respecting the establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,” This statement means we are free to not practice or practice our religious beliefs as we see fit. Our religious liberties are not under attack and there is proof. In the USA there are about 350,000 to 400,0000 Churches, Synagogues and houses of Worship. In a poll conducted, 80 to 85% of folks say they believe in GOD. Unfortunately, those that wish to rule in chaos, gaslight and manipulate others they keep feeding the lies. Why do people keep accepting lies as truth?

We must also look at those that are just hateful. That 15% that would love to go back to the jim crow era, when Black folks were marginalized and didn't have rights. When Women could be beaten in the homes and r***d by their husbands or boyfriends without interference from law enforcement because of the "boys clubs rule, "bros before hoe$$". When we fail to adequately learn our all of our history (the good, bad and the ugly) we are doom to repeat the mistakes of our past. We choose now to ignore the rules of civility and how to love each other when there is discourse. Then we wonder why our children are off course in their behavior. "They are watching us select our leaders." If we pick folks without integrity, moral character, plus support those that wish to destroy others, our Children will grow up to be just like the people we choose.

This letter is a point of introspection, we all have free will as given to us by GOD our Creator, the Great I AM! If you follow GOD, I would like you to really look deep at your choices for the leaders of our society. Talk to GOD and see if these people align with GOD! Not with their words, but with their actions. Be totally honest and truthful, if this was your child, brother, sister, parent, would their behavior be acceptable?

Now I am not saying that people need to be perfect, because GOD knows I am a sinner and I lot of you that know me, know that I am a big sinner and imperfect. Which is why I am not in politics ;-). Even in this realm, I know I am not the chosen one and anyone that claims this title, who is an adulterer, liar and cheater is not what they claim. This is not malicious statement but an observation. Just pin this letter, and when we roll back our rights, remember I told you to weigh the consequences of your actions.
Love doesn't look or act like hate. Love is an action and not just something that happens. Love doesn't seek to destroy, it seeks to build and uplift. Love is grace and mercy in action, which is tied to forgiveness, not retribution, nor revenge.

Ignorance is not bliss and Apathy is not a solution. Now, I dare you to paste this to your page. I dare you to be your best self and share this message as you think about the choice of being economically enslaved and/or living in serfdom to being imperfectly free in a democratic republic.
