/ Headdress + Headwrap / 🌱

The headdress has been worn since the Nubian Empire and Ancient Egypt. the kings and queens of that era would adorn themselves with intricate headdresses. these were made out of beautiful fabrics with vibrant color patterns, designs & textures. decorations like flowers, copper, sun disks, & feathers were added to the headdress to make it appear taller. oftentimes you could identify a God or Deity by how one decorated their headdress. the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria designed the Gélé [ also pictured above ] which is a headdress that ties up at the top of ones crown. these headdress were worn to show power, status, & also used as protection from the sun.

In Rastafarian culture, headwraps are worn for self-preservation & dedication to the Most High. I personally resonate with this form of modality. I wear head wraps to protect my crown & my energy. my locs are extremely sacred to me and so is my spiritual journey. wearing headwraps helps me maintain a private spiritual relationship with my higher self. the Rosewater Hair Mist + Hair Growth & Repair Serum are both used to keep my hair moisturized under my headwraps.

what’s your experience wearing headwraps?

↡ I’d love to hear your individual journeys ↡
