I am *always* slow to transfer updates from the IG to the Ko-fi, despite the fact that this is our main fundraising source (A whole $327 per month! That's one spay and some food! Y'all are the best) but I will TRY to get better at this. I suppose we could do Patreon as well, but I'm not sure what to even offer for rewards when I'm already overwhelmed 24/7- and I don't like updates being trapped behind a paywall. Here, everything is public whether people can afford to donate or not, and transparency really matters to me/us.
Anyways, here's a really quick roundup blog!

Blinkin is OBSESSED with his donut. Heās working on his farmerās tan.
Apologies for the slow posts- Iām one person running all this, and Iām out of town for work. Rescue doesnāt pay, quite the opposite, and everything I do here is a labor of love out of pocket. My wonderful, amazing husband is holding down the fort at home- all eleven cats, two snakes, and four spiders.
Our fosters are the best as always. Iāll be home June 5 and will try to update more often š«”
No big news on the rescue front other than Iggy and Smush are going back with their foster for a bit and weāll have new babies ready to meet you at soon! Iggy was not a fan of the adoption room and they are both extremely bonded, more than I realized.
You can get your own cat caves from .official . Use code āoddpawsā and we get 30% of your order donated to the rescue! I promise now and always that I wonāt be trying to sell you anything we donāt actually use ourselves.
Hope you are having the best of days!

ALL animals need our protection. We SHARE this planet.
A Florida panther sitting under the LAST remaining tree in a clear-cut wasteland should horrify every Floridian. This is what unchecked overdevelopment looks like.
Not āsmart growth.ā
Not āprogress.ā
Not āconservation.ā
This is habitat destruction on an industrial scale, wiping out some of the last remaining land the nearly extinct Florida panther has left to survive.
Meanwhile, developers cash in.
Politicians take donations.
And Floridaās wildlife pays the price.
The Florida panther is one of the rarest animals in America. Experts have warned for years that sprawling mega developments, road expansion, and destruction of rural land are pushing them closer to extinction.
And once these ecosystems are gone⦠they are gone forever.
People move to Florida for the beauty, wildlife, open land, clean water, and natural environment not endless concrete, traffic, pollution, and bulldozed wilderness.
At what point do we finally say ENOUGH?

Aaaa! We are so grateful to for this article in today!
Iāve never been great at interviews- itās like when someone asks what your favorite movie is and suddenly you forget every movie youāve ever seen, your name, and what planet you live on- but Libba did a fantastic job at making me sound like less of a goof.
Fingers crossed that someone adopts Muenster after reading this. Heās such a good boy, he has just decided he would prefer to be an only cat. Given where he came from, thatās totally understandable.
If anyone comes here from this article, heās on the next slide!

Milwaukee šØ
PLEASE DON'T SCROLL PAST. PLEASE SHARE. PLEASE HELP. WE NEED TO LINE UP A FOSTER HOME FOR MEG NOW!!!
Milwaukee Pets Alive was created to save the animals that are or would be killed by the Inhumane Society and Animal Kill and Control because there is one God, and no one else gets to play that role. Every life is deserving of life. Every life is important. We thought getting support for such an effort and such animals would be a given. It hasn't been in this community. 216 days we have pleaded for a foster home for Meg and still none. Yet the support for the kill shelters overflows. Upside-down land. But there's always one person in this sea of those that look away from the animals we help that doesn't - that runs towards the animals we serve, not away. That says, oh my gosh - how is no one helping this precious life? It doesn't take them seeing the need 50 times. They see it the first time and they apply. Our foster parents, while a small bunch, are a stand-out group of humans. They run towards when everyone else runs away. It sadly takes awhile for that one person to find our animals but never this long. Where is that hero for Meg? We need them now.
Because we're looking to reach a fresh section of our community that cares, if you are seeing this for the first time, you may not know, Meg is an undersocialized kitty who has never been in a home, but her caretaker of over a year has done a wonderful job of beginning her socialization in the only environment she's ever known - the outdoors. MPA takes these kitties who have shown the desire for attention and affection of people and gives them a chance at a longer, safer, carefree life indoors. We need foster homes to give them these opportunities. While what they need in a foster home to succeed is ordinary, they need a special person who cares about giving an "undercat" a chance. If that's you and you have what Meg needs, do what you were put on this planet to do - fill a need that you fit. Help when you are called to help. Apply to foster Meg.
Meg is in need of a quiet, calm, peaceful adult-only home with an individual or couple who are patient, understanding, and gentle. There should be no dogs in her home. She could be the only animal in the home, or, an appropriately paired resident cat can really help us socialize the undersocialized ones by "showing them the ropes" of a home and being something familiar (a member of their own species) when everything around them is new and a little scary. For Meg, the purrfect-pairing would be a young (because Meg is young - she's about 2 years old), playful, curious, outgoing, happy-go-lucky male cat or two - but no female cats. Milwaukee Pets Alive serves Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, Kenosha, and Ozaukee counties and all of our foster homes must be located therein.
How often in this life to have the chance to really be a hero? Not often. But you could be that to Meg. If you are who we just described, go to www.milwaukeepetsalive.org/foster and complete and return a foster application without delay.
If you are not a match, don't look away. Help Meg. Share her need. We need to find humans that will help in this community, and we need your help to do so.
All questions must be directed to our foster and animal care teams at [email protected]

Itās been a minute since I posted a Stanky Leg update- mostly because heās ⨠ADOPTED āØ! Heās still with us for now and heās doing great. Zero other health concerns and we have NO IDEA what happened or why he had a fever, but I guess⦠kids are like that sometimes?
Once heās fixed and vaxxed, he will be going all the way to Portland to live with my BFF of many years, Jenna. I know he will have the absolute best life. Her current cat, Zisa, has failing kidneys, and itās a bad time. Sheās 16 years old and has been utterly spoiled her entire life. Iāve watched Jenna prioritize her catās health and happiness over her own consistently since we met. Iāve been trying to convince her to get a child for Zisa for ages now and Stank finally won. Also, heās nearly a clone of my soul cat, Ozzy- matching cats, thatās a friendship bonus.
I have a tendency to try to place our weirdest babies with friends- Frog with Monica, Ivar with Jaysen & Irin, now Stanky with Jenna- both selfishly so I can watch them grow and visit them forever, and because these are people I know for CERTAIN will give them the absolute best care and spoil them rotten for their entire lives. We vet every adopter thoroughly, but as we saw with Mousey & Koo, itās impossible to be 100% sure. With these friends, I am 100% sure.
Until his journey west, Stanky will have a great time here playing with his cousins. He and Blinkin are buddies for sure- Blinkin is such a good boy!
