Life has been “lifing” in my world and I decided to tap into one of the social media trends to take my mind off of it all. I know I am late to the party, never could have imagined doing so would bring me some clarity I have been seeking. I’m an AI enthusiast at best, but use it for work! Here is the prompt:
“Create a caricature of me and my job based on everything you know about me.”
Everything tracked in terms of work, and I LOVE that SPACE in Medical Education was included as the creation of it will always be near and dear to me! However, the BRIDGE was throwing me off. It did not make sense! What does it mean? So of course I go back and ask! All that was gray in my head became clear with the response:
“I’m so glad you asked this—because the bridge is very intentional 😊 The bridge symbolizes you as a connector and translator across spaces that don’t always speak the same language.”
It even broke it down to where I am a connector and translator, which included:
✅Faculty ↔ Staff
✅Education ↔ Operations
✅Innovation ↔ Compliance
✅Individuals ↔ Systems
But the line that got me the most?
“Honestly? The bridge might be the most “you” part of the whole image.”
And I could not agree more! I enjoy bringing people together to educate, translate, and fill in the gaps! And it has now become the inspiration for my aspiration to do more “bridging” in the future!

I'M SPEAKING......KINDA! 😀
If you are attending AAMC Learn Serve Lead 2025, I am excited to invite you to join my colleagues Deborah Birnbaum and Jon Goforth for our session, "Staff Professionals as Key Collaborators for Educational Success!" Although I am not physically there at the conference, you will "see" me speak in the session!
Professional staff are the backbone of educational continuity and innovation in academic medicine. Yet, high turnover rates continue to strain institutional resources and impact learner experiences, research, and patient care.
This session will explore actionable strategies for staff development, mentorship, and retention, and share insights from ongoing SPACE advocacy efforts within the AAMC Group on Educational Affairs. Together, we’ll discuss how to better support, recognize, and invest in the staff professionals who make our missions possible.
Whether you’re a staff professional, administrator, or faculty leader, this conversation is for you! A special thank you to Brian Herman, as his hard work helped us get our acceptance for this session!
