Through The Trees Training

I love being present for my athletes! We all hit low points in these difficult races. When Bobby came into mile 55, he was physically and mentally exhausted, unsure if he could continue. I noticed he didn’t eat or drink, so we got him food and warmed him up. I gave him 5 minutes to make a decision to continue. He knew he had a difficult climb ahead and was 19 hours into the race with 50ish more miles to go. With words of encouragement from his coach, crew and race director, he made the hard decision to go back out there! As a coach seeing my athletes soul search to determine if they can safely continue even when their body and mind say no is inspirational! Way to give it your all Bobby!
