At the heart of everything we do is a simple message: Love is the antidote. "Love of neighbor as oneself is the antidote," Stoddard said. "God loves us despite our imperfections. We can love each other, despite our imperfections. We are stronger together. One team; one fight. "In a world with plenty of real reasons to feel disheartened or angry, I’m reminded daily that there is still far more good than not. Yes, we face real tragedies, deep struggles, like death, loss, changes like from Traumatic Brain Injuries, comas, seizures, and other real storms we never asked for but we also have love, hope, and Angels, both earthly and heavenly, with us. I’m forever grateful for the blessing of serving alongside so many of you in Iraq, Afghanistan, and here at home here in the United States of America 🇺🇸.

When I was at my lowest, many of you reached out your hands and lifted me up. You were the Lord’s hands in my life. Most of all, I’m thankful for my incredible better half, my earthly Angel, who has stood with me through every challenge, every storm, and every chapter of this journey. She embraces life’s chaos with grace and strength, and I’m beyond blessed to weather every season with her by my side. No matter what you’re facing today, remember: we don’t have to be perfect to love well. We just have to strive. Love is the antidote.

This week the City of Mesa Mesa Police Department had their incredible Youth LeadershipAcademy and today I had the privilege of joining my MPD extended family while building tomorrow’s leaders. As a retired Mesa Police Officer still serving through MPD VIPS/a U.S. Army Command Sergeant Major, and President & CEO of Archangels (our 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting Military, Veterans and First Responders), I was deeply moved to be with my extended police family.

It was truly heartwarming to stand alongside officers I’ve served with for years as we continue the good work of protecting and serving our community! The world can seem filled with anger and hate but there is always more good than not. I had the joy of presenting challenge coins to these incredible young people and reminding them that loving our neighbor as ourselves is how we do good for others and for ourselves. As a child of God, I believe every day is a gift and every breath is an opportunity to serve and love. Despite what the enemy tries to throw at us, love is the antidote. There is always more good than evil. We are stronger together, One Team; One Fight.

Thank you, Mesa PD and City of Mesa, for investing in our youth. The future is bright because of programs like this and the quiet, faithful labor of so many good people.

Join me in congratulating my sister, an extended family member, Sergeant First Class Tasha Mimms on her outstanding retirement after more than 20 years of active duty in the U.S. Army.

She labored and sacrificed, did her best as a warrior indeed an earthly Angel. She didn’t just meet the call of duty, she ran toward it with a focused strong heart. She stepped up for missions most will never fully understand, like Mojave Falcon, where roughly 10,000 Soldiers, Airmen, and Sailors from multiple branches trained, grew, and served something bigger than any one of us.

Together with our extended family of NCOs, we poured everything into top notch training while making sure every Service Member was seen, supported, and truly taken care of. We’re forever grateful to the coalition of the willing who made it possible: partners led by Reyness Price and the Military Support Foundation, the The Archangels, PepsiCo, Gatorade , Propel, Starbucks, Sunbelt Rentals, and so many others who showed up without a dime of taxpayer money.

SFC Mimms poured herself into building our Soldier Family Readiness Group (SFRG) from the ground up so families didn’t just survive the mission, they felt loved through it. Snowball fights and game nights at Dave & Buster's, AZLEOS “Shop with a Cop / Shop with the Sheepdog” holiday events, training in San Antonio, surfing at REVEL SURF PARKS in Mesa & an unforgettable fiestas in the area of Luke Air Force Base. In the photo attached, you see her receiving yet another of my challenge coins in front of that massive American flag hoisted by Sunbelt Rentals, Inc. Later, the entire battalion, my Commander, and every Soldier, signed an incredible custom made USA Cactus BN flag and presented it to her. Thank you SteelWood in Mesa who turned those memories into a plaque.

It was pure proof that we are stronger together. One team; One fight. SFC Mimms, my sister, my warrior, you fought the good fight with grit, grace, and love. Well done, thou good and faithful servant. We will miss you in the Army, but we will never lose you. We’ve got your six, always. The mission continues.

To every person reading this who is facing their own battles, whether in uniform, out of it, battling deployment, injury, loss, burnout, doubt, or just the weight of another hard day, hear this, tou make a difference, and God loves you. SFC Mimms didn’t retire because she ran out of heart, she retired because she poured every drop of it into us. Whatever you’re carrying right now, you don’t have to carry it alone. Show up messy. Show up tired. Show up anyway. Serve where you are. Love your Battle Buddy. Use whatever good resources & kindness you have, because it all adds up to something beautiful. We are stronger together.

From heart-pounding football action & spectacular fireworks to the powerful Star-Spangled Banner sung by our incredible US Air Force Airmen (who also posted the flag ), the night was pure heartwarming joy!

Huge shoutout to Arizona Rattlers’ Kasey Bjorklund for setting up $17 tickets so fans could attend & directly support our mission. As a 100% volunteer-led 501(c)(3), every donation goes straight to serving Military Veterans, First Responders & FAMILIES, no salaries!

Heartfelt thanks to the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame Society for their “Our Success is Your Success” program. They helped us buy 10 VIP tickets given to currently serving US Service Members & their FAMILIES (incl. some amazing kiddos, our future heroes!).
