If you spent any time in uniform or working in defense, you know that international summits are rarely about the "noble cause" printed on the banner. They are about raw positioning.

Case in point: The UN’s AI governance summit happening in Geneva right now.

They want us to believe 193 countries are gathered to save the world from rogue algorithms. Cut through the smoke. This is a classic battle over the high ground.

The U.S. position: We control ~75% of the advanced AI compute on the planet. We want zero international restrictions, because you don’t sign away a strategic advantage when you’re winning.

The Chinese position: They are lagging behind on cutting-edge chips, so they’ve suddenly discovered a deep love for "multilateral UN frameworks". They want global rules to force a pause on American capability.

This isn’t an ethics panel. It’s a siege.
Every restriction Big Tech and the federal government try to place on American developers under the guise of "global compliance" is just another way of handcuffing our own frontline innovators while our adversaries look for an opening.

Don't buy the corporate media's panic. We're breaking down exactly what Washington is trying to surrender in Geneva on Substack.

Drop your thoughts below—should the US pull up a seat, or walk out of the room?

You don’t give away $42 billion in a company you think is going to the moon.

OpenAI just floated handing the U.S. government a 5% stake — reportedly worth $42.6 billion — and suggested Anthropic, Google, and Meta do the same. Everyone ran the number. I wanted to talk about the tell.

After the Marine Corps, I spent over a decade in Silicon Valley. You learn how founders actually think: sell everyone on infinite upside while a cold corner of your brain runs the survival math nobody says out loud. This offer is that survival math showing on the table.

And this week the President said the quiet part on CNBC — that when Washington sees “a bad player,” it stops them “quickly and effectively,” and that it just did. The off-switch isn’t a theory anymore. It’s a boast.
