I’m thrilled to invite you to our very first Annapolis Ecstatic Dance!

Dance can be a form of medicine for the body and spirit. When I first experienced ecstatic dance back in 2018, I was nervous, and self judging of moving my body in public. In the ecstatic dance container I learned quickly that it was me who was judging myself. My body movements were semi-frozen and confined to my small comfort zone.

I learned that it was safe and supported to explore my body movements and natural dance moves on the ecstatic dance floor. Getting “weird” was normal and encouraged. It was exercise, it was self discovery, it was freedom. I love it all so much.

There really is no wrong way to move. There is only how you move when you connect to the music, and to yourself. Your connection is unique, and worthy of being honored.

I see the value and need for ecstatic dance containers after the pandemic more than ever. Im so excited to be co-creating an ecstatic dance container in the Annapolis area, so I can continue my opening up process alongside other beautiful community members navigating their own processes. Opening up through ecstatic dance can be beautiful, explorative, and freeing. The opportunities to connect to self and other on the dance floor are invaluable. I can’t wait :)

Our first dance is this Tuesday, July 6th. Doors open at 7 pm. Dance set goes until about 9:30.
