After 12 years in nursing, I’ve learned that not every opinion deserves a response, not every criticism deserves my energy, and not every battle is mine to fight.

These days, I protect my peace a little differently.

Sometimes that looks like setting boundaries.
Sometimes it looks like taking a walk in nature.
And sometimes it looks like blasting Afro House music and dancing around like I’m personally cleansing all the bad juju from a 10-mile radius. 😂

Call it what you want, but I’ve realized that the more focused I am on becoming a better version of myself, the less time I have to worry about what other people are saying.

Keep growing.
Keep healing.
Keep moving forward.

The best response to negativity is a life so full of joy that it can’t catch up to you.

👇 What’s your favorite way to protect your peace when negativity shows up?

This is a reminder that your growth starts with the words you speak to yourself.

Too often, we wait for validation from the world around us while forgetting that the most important voice we hear every day is our own. These affirmations are here to help you reconnect with your worth, trust your journey, choose positivity, embrace gratitude, and remember the power you already carry within.

1. I am enough.
2. I choose growth, peace, and positivity.
3. I trust my journey.
4. I am grateful for where I am and excited for where I’m going.
5. I have the power to create the life I desire.

Read them slowly. Save them for later. Speak them out loud if you need to. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s creating a mindset that supports the life you’re building.

At Thrive Within, we believe that when you nourish your inner world, your outer world begins to blossom.

Which affirmation speaks to you the most today?

Nurses are built different for real.
We carry heavy conversations, stressful shifts, emotional exhaustion, and moments people will never fully understand… yet we still show up with compassion, laughter, and light.

That’s why thriving within matters.
Because strength isn’t pretending everything is okay. It’s learning how to protect your peace, regulate your mind, nourish your spirit, and still find joy in the middle of chaos.

Some people wonder how nurses keep smiling through it all.

The truth is… we’ve learned that if we don’t create moments of happiness for ourselves, burnout will try to steal who we are.

So yes, we’ll dance.
We’ll laugh.
We’ll hype each other up.
And we’ll continue choosing joy anyway.

To every nurse or anyone reading this:
Don’t just survive your career. Thrive within it.

Why do people try so hard to dim people with genuine light?

Honestly, I could be at my lowest moment, and I’ll still find a way to uplift the people around me. I’ve survived harder things in life to let negative people infect me. I have so much to be grateful for and this is what I am here to do. To spread joy, positivity, and laughter wherever I go.

Because my sparkle was never tied to money, status, or validation. It comes from within.

On the sidenote, they were doing Zumba at a Filipino fiesta in celebration of the Philippines Independence Day and I couldn’t help myself because I love to dance, especially Zumba!

I just want to say thank you to each and every one of you for the love, support, prayers, good vibes, and uplifting messages. Truly, it means more than you know.

This experience has definitely been difficult, but it also taught me an important lesson, and I take full accountability moving forward. Sometimes growth comes through uncomfortable moments, and I’m choosing to learn from it, grow from it, and move forward with more awareness and intention.

But one thing I want you all to know is this: this situation will not dim my light. If anything, it has motivated me even more to continue spreading positivity, encouragement, and joy. There is already enough negativity in this world, and I will continue choosing to be a source of light, kindness, and good energy.

Thank you again for standing by me. I appreciate every single one of you more than words can express.

PS: I went paddle boarding today to enjoy our beautiful Alaskan Summer!

Burnout will really have you thinking you’re weak… when in reality, you’re just carrying too much at once.

Resting doesn’t make you lazy. Slowing down doesn’t make you behind. And one hard season doesn’t erase how powerful you are.

Sometimes it’s not about “doing more” it’s about shifting your mindset, protecting your energy, and remembering who you are outside of stress.

You’ve survived every overwhelming moment before this one.
You’re stronger than burnout. Always.
