Yesterday, I had the privilege of watching AESD's Mariachi All Stars perform at the Community Schools Conference in Long Beach and they rocked it! Nothing fills me with more pride than getting the opportunity to brag about our talented scholars to educators throughout the United States. So proud of our students; they seriously were amazing!!! Go AESD!!!

Yesterday, I had such a fantastic time reading to some of our AMAZING scholars here in AESD. I started my day at Orange Grove Elementary School, where I was greeted my two of the most charismatic young men who interviewed me about the importance of reading. Then afterwards, I read to a 2nd grade class a wonderful little book called "The Smart Cookie." Dr. Valdez has some wonderful things happening there at Orange Grove.

After Orange Grove, I headed over to John Marshall Elementary School where I reconnected with my former student, Ms. Wendy Ramos, who is there serving as a Leadership Assistant in the ELOP program. The class I read to was AWESOME and they asked some insightful questions about the book. Thank you Dr. Jason Reyes for the invite to come read to your students.

Overall, it was a wonderful morning with our SUPERSTAR scholars in AESD!
