The actual list is thousands of points long. 😅 My opinions, my politics, my clothes, my body, my beliefs, my marriage, my lack of obedience, my mouth, my anger, my humor, my refusal to submit, my entire personality if we’re being honest… all of it is an inherent problem to the patriarchy.

And that’s the point. 👏

Because this isn’t just a funny little list about the past. There are women alive right now who are still punished, persecuted, imprisoned, tortured, and killed for the same things women have always been punished for. Speaking too loudly. Saying no. Questioning religion. Choosing their own lives. Refusing men. Existing in a way that cannot be controlled.

I am painfully aware that I was lucky to be born somewhere I can say these things out loud and survive it. I can question power. I can criticize religion. I can call myself a witch. I can say I don’t want children. I can talk back to men on the internet. I can be loud, godless, opinionated, political, and free enough to post about it. 🤘🏻

So I will. 🙂‍↔️

Not because I think I’m brave for making an Instagram post, but because there are women who would be risking their lives to say even half of this out loud.

I speak because I can, and because too many women still cannot. And I will never take that freedom lightly. 😤
