I will be holding a class on the 18th and 19th of February. If this is your initial class for a CCW you will need to be there both days. If this is your renewal you will just need to be there the 19th. It will be held at the Modoc County Sheriff’s Office Annex from 9 to 5 the first day.

The second day we’ll be in the class from 9 to 12. After that we’ll be on the range from 1 to 5.

The required equipment for this class is the following:

A handgun registered in your name.
150 rounds for at least one handgun
20 rounds for every additional handgun
A pen
Comfortable warm clothes

Cost for this class is the following:
$150 for your initial class

$75 for your initial if you’re a first responder or the spouse of one

$75 for your renewal

SB2 note:

Senate Bill 2 is yet another overreach by California politicians trying to further restrict your 2nd Amendment right. The PLACES you can carry per SB2 have been declared unconstitutional by the 9th Circuit Court. There is currently a stay on them. I’m sure the US Supreme Court will uphold this decision. The length and certification requirements are still in place.

Going forward will determine how I teach my class. I found the 8 hours to cover the topics required more than adequate. I intend to have my students watching more videos regarding use of force. Also we will be disassembling fi****ms, going over proper maintenance, and going more in depth into the law.

We will also be increasing the amount of time we spend on the range. You’ll notice the added amount of ammunition above. I figure if we’re going to spend more time together, I might as well transition this into more shooting instruction as well.

On January 1st, 2024 Senate Bill 2 will go into effect. This will change numerous things but specifically it will make initial classes 16 hours long, and renewal classes 8 hours long.

I will also have to get certified by our lovely state to teach still. I have no issue with this besides the fact I can’t ask them to certify me in advance. They don’t even know what the certification process looks like yet.

So November 26th will be the next class I have. It will probably be the last class I will have, until the state unscrews itself. It will be held at the Sheriff Annex at 0900 hours. You’ll need your guns and 25 rounds for each one. If your renewal date isn’t close and you don’t want me talking in front of you for a long time, i’d come to this course. Pricing remains the same.

Unfortunately, now I have to talk about pricing in the future. For a 16 hour course I’m going to need other instructors because I won’t be doing as many small courses and we’re going to be there twice as long. I haven’t made any final decisions yet, but it will probably be $200 for an initial and $100 for a renewal, with $50 off for being a first responder or the spouse of one.
