To whom it may concern,

Earlier this year, my mother and I set out to find an apartment to which she would move from her home of 32 years. I researched, via the Internet, locations in and around Plano, McKinney, Allen and North Dallas. We visited numerous places and soon learned that a priority would be an apartment with a full kitchen as my mother does enjoy cooking her own meals. A second priority would be access to transportation as my mother had decided she was no longer comfortable driving.

We found one location in Allen that seemed like it might be a good fit so we began the process of contracting with Caring Transitions for my mother’s move and estate sale. While discussing our process with Rex Norris at Caring Transitions, I voiced my concern that my research might have missed an even better option. Rex recommended Patrick McBride and we are so pleased he did.

Patrick spent a very productive hour or so with us at my mother’s house discussing my mother’s priorities in a new home. He asked all the right questions and was able to ascertain exactly what my mother wanted in a new home as well as what she could afford. He asked us questions about the locations we had already visited; and, to be honest, asked questions to which we did not have an answer. It was an enlightening conversation and obvious that we were talking with an expert!

He asked that we give him a few days to do some research. Patrick called to let us know that he’d found two locations he wanted us to visit. We met him at a lovely location in north Dallas and then proceeded to a location in north Plano. My mother absolutely fell in love with the location in Plano. It had all the things she was looking for: a lovely kitchen with a lot of counter space; a two bedroom apartment she could afford; a mountain of storage; a tenured
staff; transportation; social activities and weekday lunch should she want to take a break from cooking. It was such a fabulous fit that my mother completed a lease application that day.

If it were not for Patrick, we would never have found the perfect place and my mother would have had to compromise by living in a smaller one-bedroom apartment or by paying a much higher monthly rent. We can’t thank him enough!
