3.5 hours and 30 pups yesterday! 🐾

There are so many incredible dogs currently available through Bernalillo County Animal Care—it’s hard not to fall in love with all of them. Here are a few of my favorites from yesterday.

This Saint Bernard is absolutely massive… and just a total teddy bear. And then there’s this dobie with the floppy ears—couldn’t get enough of that face.

If you’ve been thinking about adopting, now’s the time. These dogs deserve amazing homes. ❤️

I’m honored and humbled to announce that I’ve been selected for The New Mexico Cancer Center’s Gallery with a Cause 2026–2027 Winter Exhibition.

Many of you know that my father and step-mother are cancer survivors, which makes this opportunity especially meaningful to me. This year's exhibition, "The Art of Healing," features artists whose lives have been directly or indirectly impacted by cancer, along with artwork that is intended to be meditative, uplifting, and inspiring.

The exhibition will be on display November 23, 2026, through February 21, 2027.

The New Mexico Cancer Center is home to one of the largest art exhibition spaces in New Mexico, welcoming nearly 500 patients, family members, staff, and visitors each day. It is truly an honor to have my work included in a place where art can provide comfort, hope, and healing during difficult times.

Thank you to everyone who has encouraged and supported me along this journey—especially my wife, Christie. I wouldn't be here without her support. Thank you all. It means more than you know.

Thanks again to everyone who stopped by and supported us! We had another great show and are already looking forward to the next one on the 4th of July at the Santa Fe Artist Market in the Santa Fe Railyard. I plan on removing some of the smaller pieces to make room for more larger metals which are getting more interest.

We even had to order a few more prints to replace the ones we sold—a good problem to have! Thank you for helping make it such a successful day. We hope to see you again soon.

Taos Welcome Tree is no more... This image remains one of my favorite composites I've ever created.

The distinctive tree that greeted — and bid farewell — to motorists south of Taos at the top of the Horseshoe Curve along N.M. 68 is no more. The Welcome Tree, as it is known, was toppled Monday (June 8th). The Taos plateau was buffeted by high winds late Monday afternoon.

It was famously one of the most photographed natural landmarks in Northern New Mexico. Local artists and travelers continually captured its bare branches set against dramatic high-desert sunsets, lightning storms, winter snows, and the northern lights.

I fell short of my 30-dog goal yesterday, but sometimes rescue photography is harder than people realize.

Some pups just don’t cooperate — not because they are bad dogs, but because they are scared, overwhelmed, and confused. There are new people, bright lights, squeakers, treats flying around, and a lot happening all at once. Sometimes the perfect headshot just doesn’t happen.

You want to give them extra time, but there is only a small window to photograph as many dogs as possible. Spending too much time with one dog could mean another never gets their picture taken at all.

But even when the photo isn’t perfect, you still see who they really are.

This guy is Cocopuff, and he is the perfect example. I’m not proud of the headshot I captured, but he is one of the most loving dogs I met yesterday. He simply wants to be close to his person.
