Quiet Thoughts Matter

This weekend, we had the opportunity to witness something powerful.

Through How Well Do You Know Your Tween?, we created space for conversation between an aunt and her niece and what unfolded was honest, reflective, and real.

They both walked away learning things about each other they didn’t previously know. There were moments of surprise, moments of pause, and moments of connection.

One thing that stood out, Valencia felt confident in understanding her aunt, even expressing a desire to flip the questions and focus on her.

And honestly, that wasn’t surprising.

Often, young people are observing more than we realize. They’re paying attention, learning, and forming understanding while caregivers are often balancing responsibilities and focused on meeting daily needs.

This experience reminded us how important it is to slow down and create intentional space for mutual understanding.

Because how we feel today may not always be how we feel tomorrow but having the space to express it matters.
