Ruth Bader Ginsburg (1933 - 2020) spent a lifetime flourishing in the face of adversity before being appointed a Supreme Court justice, where she successfully fought against gender discrimination and unified the liberal block of the court.

Sojourner Truth (1797 - 1883) was an African-American abolitionist who dedicated her life to fighting and defending gender equality. Though she was born into slavery, Truth escaped to freedom with her young daughter at the age of 29.
