𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 reminds us of the powerful impact that investing in and girls can have on our societies. This year’s global theme, “𝗚𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗚𝗮𝗶𝗻,” highlights an important truth: when we create opportunities for women, support their leadership, and promote gender equality, everyone benefits.

The UN theme, “Rights, Justice, Action,” challenges us to move beyond promises and take meaningful steps that ensure women and girls can fully exercise their rights, access justice, and actively contribute to shaping the policies and decisions that affect their lives.

Within the advocacy and development space, this means amplifying women’s voices in leadership, strengthening their participation in policy processes, and building institutions that are inclusive, equitable, and responsive to diverse needs. Empowering women goes far beyond representation. 𝗜𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲.

When we invest in women leaders by providing space, resources, and support, we strengthen institutions, improve policies, and build more resilient communities for everyone.

The I AM Girl 6 Project (2025–2028) has officially been launched at the National Level!

This milestone marks a significant step in advancing adolescent empowerment across Butaleja, Namutumba, and Butebo districts.

Phase 6 builds on successful district and sub-county inception meetings held earlier in 2025, ensuring strong alignment with local government priorities and coordinated community-level implementation.

After a brief postponement due to the election period, the national launch now reaffirms partner commitment and strengthens global visibility for the programme.

The project will reach 29,325 adolescents, addressing barriers to education through:
✔️ Economic empowerment support for caregivers
✔️ SRHR education and service uptake
✔️ Agri-ecology initiatives
✔️ Skilling and vocational development
✔️ WASH interventions

The programme is primarily funded by Irish Aid and implemented by Fields of Life in partnership with Hamiza Development Foundation.

Together, we remain committed to advancing adolescent wellbeing, gender equality, and inclusive development outcomes throughout 2025–2028.

HDF had an opportunity to be part of the training of communication officers at USSIA Head office Kampala last week.

The objective of the training was to build the capacity of communication officers in effectively capturing photos,documenting success stories and producing impactful videos in their respective areas of implementing the LEAD project.
