E-MAC continues to strengthen its commitment to marginalized communities through strategic collaboration with global platforms like the Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW), expanding opportunities for meaningful community impact.
At the ongoing 31st Triennial World Conference in Ottawa, Beatrice Banda, a Gender Specialist, has proudly represented both E-MAC as a member society and Tanzania on the global stage. The conference has brought together women from 51 countries, creating a powerful space for learning, sharing experiences, and showcasing how women are driving change in their communities.
This is more than a networking platform—it is a space for solidarity, collaboration, and collective action. In her contributions, Beatrice Banda, who also serves as the ACWW Coordinator for East, West, and Central Africa, highlighted critical challenges facing pastoralist communities, particularly Gender-Based Violence (GBV). She emphasized that Female Ge***al Mutilation (FGM) remains a harmful practice that must be eradicated, reaffirming that every woman has the right to make decisions about her own body.
The discussions also addressed the growing impact of climate change on food security. Women, who are at the center of household and community food systems, continue to face increasing pressure as they work to sustain their families and communities amid environmental challenges.
