Period poverty poses significant dangers to individuals' health, dignity, and overall well-being. Without access to menstrual hygiene products, those affected often resort to unhygienic alternatives, such as rags or tissues, increasing the risk of infections and reproductive health issues. Additionally, the financial strain of purchasing menstrual products can force individuals to prioritize other necessities over their menstrual health, leading to feelings of shame, embarrassment, and exclusion. Lack of access to proper menstrual hygiene also hinders educational and economic opportunities, perpetuating cycles of poverty. Addressing period poverty is essential to safeguarding the health, dignity, and rights of individuals worldwide.
