Prophet Benjamin, born Devon Samuel from Newlands, Point Fortin, is widely recognized as one of Trinidad and Tobago’s most influential and respected reggae artists. Rising from humble beginnings in the southland, he made his mark with his debut hit Pretty Boy, which dominated Trinidad’s Genesis Countdown at number one for five consecutive weeks. Since then, he has built an impressive catalogue with songs like Field of W**d, Delilah, Pension Plan, The Usual Suspect, and more, earning a reputation for originality, lyrical creativity, and authentic Caribbean storytelling.

Known for his versatility, Prophet Benjamin successfully crossed into the soca and chutney arenas with popular songs such as Throw Wine (2012), Lokani (2013), and Betty Cat (2020). His talent carried him to major stages, placing 3rd in the Soca Monarch Finals and also 7th in Chutney Monarch Finals, proving his ability to connect with diverse audiences across Trinidad and Tobago.

Beyond music, Prophet Benjamin has made a lasting contribution through Rastaclusive, the signature event he proudly hosts in Point Fortin during Borough celebrations. For the past 10 years, Rastaclusive has become more than just a party—it is a cultural movement that brings people together through reggae music, unity. As one of the few major reggae artists to emerge from Point Fortin, he chose to keep Rastaclusive in his hometown to give back to the place that raised him, create opportunities for local businesses and entertainers, and showcase Point Fortin as a destination for premium entertainment during Borough Day celebrations.

As a respected voice within the Rastafari and Bobo Shanti community, Prophet Benjamin also uses his platform to uplift youth, spread consciousness, and address social issues affecting society. Through music, mentorship, and cultural leadership, he continues to inspire many while proudly representing Point Fortin and Trinidad & Tobago wherever he performs. 23/04/2026
