HADALA Project Two Months Activities (January – February 2026)

In January, the HADALA Project team carried out a range of activities. A key event was that the HADALA Team held a meeting with the Liquica Authority and the 10 Implementer Schools for the School Feeding Program in Liquica to deliver fresh vegetables to the 109 schools with 22,424 students across Liquica, which kicked off on 26 January 2026.

During the month, the HADALA Project team held a meeting with the Director General of Agriculture from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Forestry (MALFF) and the representative of the Secretariat of State for Vocational Training and Employment (SEFOPE) to discuss cooperation and Collaboration.

In February, the team remained highly active. A major initiative was the sixth Project Steering Committee Meeting, which reviewed progress, strengthened governance, and aligned on the next steps toward sustainable agricultural development in Timor-Leste.

In the same month, the HADALA Project Team, with the Korean Cooperative Expert, Professor Jong Ick Jang, conducted the two-day training for existing and new cooperative members in Aileu, Ainaro and Liquica to strengthen cooperative governance and leadership practices, improve financial management, and Foster community collaboration for long-term sustainability.

Throughout January and February, the Agriculture and Marketing teams have continued their weekly field visits across the municipalities to observe ongoing agricultural and marketing activities. This includes product collection and the supply of fresh, organic vegetables to supermarkets in Dili, as well as to the School Feeding Program in Liquica.

A Fresh Start for Liquica’s Students!

On 26 January 2026, the School Feeding Program in Liquica officially kicked off with the delivery of fresh, locally grown vegetables to 109 schools with 22,424 students.

This program is a big step toward providing nutritious meals for our students, helping children focus and learn better, supporting local farmers and communities, and building a healthier, brighter future for every child.

Together, we are building healthier futures and empowering local livelihoods one meal at a time.

To our children and students: these meals are more than food; they are fuel for your dreams.

HADALA Project Two Months Activities (November - December 2025)

In November, the HADALA Project team carried out a range of activities. A key event was the HADALA Project team successfully holding the Grand Launching and Opening of the HADALA Farmers’ Market by the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Forestry (MALFF), Mr. Marcos da Cruz, and accompanied by the KOICA Country Director, Ms. Youn Hwa Kang, and other local partners. This is a new platform designed to strengthen local agriculture and empower farming communities.

During the month, the HADALA Project team welcomed farmers’ groups in Ainaro, previously supported by CARE in Timor-Leste. These groups were formally handed over to the HADALA Project following the termination of the CARE Project in Ainaro in December 2025.

Moreover, the School Feeding Program team conducted a school assessment, which evaluated the program’s implementation during the year and discussed plans and strategies for the following year.

In December, the team remained highly active. A major initiative was the HADALA Annual Workshop, which reviewed the year’s progress and activities and set priorities for the coming year.

That same month, Projetu HADALA announced a vacancy for the School Feeding Manager position and conducted interviews with candidates shortlisted through the document submission process

Additionally, a meeting was held with the Secretary of State for Cooperatives to follow up on the registration process of the HADALA Cooperative at the Ministry of Justice.

Throughout November and December, the Agriculture and Marketing teams continued weekly field visits across municipalities. These visits monitored agricultural and marketing activities, including product collection and the supply of fresh, organic vegetables to supermarkets in Dili and HADALA Farmers’ Market.
