Old Trafford Pitch Rebuild — Day 2 Progress Report 🏟️

Another productive day at Old Trafford as work continues on the pitch redevelopment project. The final 150mm layer of the existing surface was successfully removed, while the lower rootzone was lightly cultivated and prepared for precision laser grading across the entire pitch.

The removal of the artificial carpet and rubber materials is now underway, with excavation also beginning as part of the planned pitch expansion works.

As the old surface is cleared and transported for reuse elsewhere, crews have already completed rootzone top-ups across half of the pitch area, ensuring multiple stages of the project continue to advance efficiently in partnership with Lakeland E.
