Chemical Engineering Mahidol University

ในวันที่ 14–15 พฤษภาคม 2569 ที่ผ่านมา ภาควิชาวิศวกรรมเคมี คณะวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล ได้จัดโครงการ “กิจกรรมเตรียมความพร้อมและติดอาวุธสู่โลกวิศวกรรมเคมี” เพื่อเตรียมความพร้อมให้นักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 4 ทั้งหลักสูตรไทยและหลักสูตรนานาชาติ ก่อนก้าวสู่โลกการทำงานในสายวิชาชีพวิศวกรรมเคมี

ในการนี้ นักศึกษาได้เข้าศึกษาดูงาน ณ บริษัทสยามคราฟท์อุตสาหกรรม จำกัด ซึ่งเป็นโรงงานอุตสาหกรรมขนาดใหญ่ด้านการผลิตเยื่อกระดาษและกระดาษบรรจุภัณฑ์ โดยได้เรียนรู้กระบวนการผลิตจริง ตั้งแต่การเตรียมวัตถุดิบ กระบวนการผลิตเยื่อกระดาษ ระบบสาธารณูปโภคภายในโรงงาน ตลอดจนแนวทางการจัดการพลังงานและสิ่งแวดล้อมในภาคอุตสาหกรรม ซึ่งช่วยให้นักศึกษาได้เห็นการประยุกต์ใช้องค์ความรู้ทางวิศวกรรมเคมีในกระบวนการผลิตระดับอุตสาหกรรมอย่างเป็นรูปธรรม

นอกจากนี้ ยังมีการจัดกิจกรรมเสริมสร้างภาวะผู้นำ การทำงานเป็นทีม และกิจกรรมเสวนาถ่ายทอดประสบการณ์จากศิษย์เก่าของภาควิชาฯ เพื่อสร้างแรงบันดาลใจและเตรียมความพร้อมสู่การเป็นวิศวกรเคมีมืออาชีพในอนาคต

อีกทั้ง นักศึกษายังได้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมจิตอาสาและอนุรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อม “ปล่อยปูสู่ทะเล” ณ ธนาคารปูม้าเขาตะเกียบ อำเภอหัวหิน จังหวัดประจวบคีรีขันธ์ เพื่อปลูกฝังจิตสำนึกด้านความรับผิดชอบต่อสังคมและการพัฒนาสิ่งแวดล้อมอย่างยั่งยืน

โครงการดังกล่าวนับเป็นอีกหนึ่งกิจกรรมสำคัญที่ช่วยเสริมสร้างทั้งองค์ความรู้ ประสบการณ์ ทักษะชีวิต และความสัมพันธ์อันดีระหว่างนักศึกษา คณาจารย์ เจ้าหน้าที่ และศิษย์เก่าของภาควิชาวิศวกรรมเคมี ก่อนก้าวสู่เส้นทางวิศวกรเคมีอย่างมั่นใจและมีคุณภาพ

On 14–15 May 2026, the Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, organized the “Preparing and Equipping Students for the World of Chemical Engineering” program to prepare fourth-year students from both the Thai and International Programs for their future careers in the field of chemical engineering.

As part of the program, students participated in an industrial visit to Siam Kraft Industry Co., Ltd., a large-scale manufacturer of pulp and packaging paper products. During the visit, students gained hands-on insights into real industrial processes, including raw material preparation, pulp production processes, utility systems within the plant, as well as energy and environmental management practices in the industrial sector. This experience enabled students to clearly understand the practical application of chemical engineering knowledge in industrial-scale production.

In addition, the program included leadership and teamwork development activities, as well as an experience-sharing session by alumni of the Department of Chemical Engineering, aimed at inspiring students and preparing them to become professional chemical engineers in the future.

The students also participated in a CSR and environmental conservation activity, “Crab Releasing to the Sea,” at the Khao Takiab Blue Swimming Crab Bank in Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, to promote social responsibility and environmental sustainability awareness.

This program served as another important activity in strengthening students’ knowledge, practical experience, life skills, and positive relationships among students, faculty members, staff, and alumni of the Department of Chemical Engineering before embarking on their professional careers with confidence and quality.

เมื่อวันที่ 24–25 เมษายน 2569 ที่ผ่านมา ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร. สุนทร ตันติถาวรวัฒน์ ได้เข้าร่วมงาน STS forum Japan–Thailand Symposium 2026 ณ Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld

การประชุมดังกล่าวนับเป็นเวทีนานาชาติสำคัญที่รวบรวมนักวิจัย ผู้กำหนดนโยบาย ภาคอุตสาหกรรม และผู้นำด้านวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยีจากหลากหลายประเทศ เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้และแนวคิดด้านเทคโนโลยีแห่งอนาคต ภายใต้หัวข้อ “The Great Convergence: AI-Driven Health, Environment and Bio-Economy” ซึ่งมุ่งเน้นบทบาทของ AI และระบบอัจฉริยะต่อการพัฒนาด้านสุขภาพ สิ่งแวดล้อม และเศรษฐกิจชีวภาพในอนาคต

ในการนี้ ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร. สุนทร ตันติถาวรวัฒน์ ได้รับเชิญให้ทำหน้าที่ทั้งวิทยากรและผู้สรุปการประชุม (Rapporteur) โดยนำเสนอแนวคิดและงานวิจัยด้าน AI-driven sensing และ intelligent microfabricated systems สำหรับการประยุกต์ใช้ทางการแพทย์และสิ่งแวดล้อม นอกจากนี้ ยังได้ร่วมแลกเปลี่ยนมุมมองด้าน AI governance, digital sovereignty, sustainable technology และความร่วมมือทางวิชาการกับนักวิจัยและสถาบันจากประเทศญี่ปุ่นและนานาชาติ ซึ่งสะท้อนถึงบทบาทของมหาวิทยาลัยมหิดลในการขับเคลื่อนงานวิจัยด้านวิศวกรรมเคมี เทคโนโลยีชีวการแพทย์ และนวัตกรรมเชิงนโยบาย เพื่อเชื่อมโยงองค์ความรู้ระดับแนวหน้ากับการรับมือความท้าทายในระดับประเทศและระดับโลก

During 24–25 April 2026, Assistant Professor Dr. Soontorn Tantithavornwat participated in the STS forum Japan–Thailand Symposium 2026 held at Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld, Bangkok, Thailand.

The symposium served as an important international platform bringing together researchers, policymakers, industry representatives, and leaders in science and technology from various countries to exchange knowledge and perspectives on future technologies under the theme “The Great Convergence: AI-Driven Health, Environment and Bio-Economy.” The discussions highlighted the role of AI and intelligent systems in advancing healthcare, environmental sustainability, and the bio-economy of the future.

On this occasion, Assistant Professor Dr. Soontorn Tantithavornwat was invited to serve as both a speaker and a rapporteur, presenting research concepts on AI-driven sensing and intelligent microfabricated systems for medical and environmental applications.

In addition, he participated in discussions on AI governance, digital sovereignty, sustainable technology, and international academic collaboration with researchers and institutions from Japan and other countries. His participation reflects Mahidol University’s commitment to advancing research in chemical engineering, biomedical technology, and policy innovation, while connecting frontier research with national and global challenges.
