The CES Minister of Culture, Youth, and Sports, Hon. Bush Buse, officially opened the Nyakuron East Football Tournament on April 5, 2026, at Mengo Star Playing Ground. The event was organized to honor the appointments of Hon. Latio Paul Abbas and Hon. Emmanuel Juma Diyo. Hon. Buse praised Nyakuron leadership for hosting the tournament to celebrate their residents' achievements in government. He highlighted that H.E. Salva Kiir Mayardit and H.E. Emmanuel Adil Anthony have brought energetic young leaders into the government to enhance service delivery. Hon. Buse also pledged that his ministry would address the shortage of playing grounds in Juba, emphasizing that youth engagement through sports can help prevent crime and gangs involvement. He urged young people to leave groups like 'drugs group' and pursue sports and education instead.
