Tomorrow, the body of our beloved brother and artist, Singer Mic, will be taken to Yirol for burial. We kindly request all artists, friends, and fans to come and pay their last respects by joining us in accompanying his body to the airport at 7:30 morning

Music pioneer Singer Mic dies

Musician Micah Mau Makot, popularly known as Singer Mic of the legendary Coozos Clan, has passed away.

Family sources say the artist died on Friday following medical complications linked to a severe leg wound infection.

Singer Mic was regarded as one of the pioneers of South Sudan’s urban music scene and a founding member of the influential Coozos Clan music group. He was also associated with the musical collective True Brotherz.

Known for his smooth vocals and melodic style, he featured on some of South Sudan’s most recognized songs, including “Binia Juba” and “Biu Lek Ketanga,” tracks that helped shape the country’s modern music culture in the early 2000s.

He was also the maternal uncle of renowned musician Menimen, another prominent figure from Coozos Clan.

Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by the family.
