TOCH South Sudan has kicked off a three-day retreat on Wednesday, 03/06/2026, in Warrap Town, Tonj North County, Warrap State to strengthen, Kongkoc Radio staff and peacebuilding teams.

Participants are engaging in interactive sessions to sharpen skills, share experiences, and boost community impact.

Today, TOCH South Sudan proudly joins the people of South Sudan in commemorating this historic day 16th May. We honor the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of the men and women who fought for freedom, justice, and self-determination during the liberation struggle that began on May 16, 1983.

As we pay tribute to our national heroes and heroines, we also reaffirm our commitment to building a peaceful, united, and prosperous South Sudan where children, women, youth, and communities live with dignity, hope, and opportunity.

May the spirit of unity, patriotism, and peace continue to guide our nation toward lasting development.

Let us all play our part to engage in your communities, promote peace, support one another, and take action toward building a better future for South Sudan. Together, we can sustain the legacy of our heroes.

𝗧𝗢𝗖𝗛 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝗰𝗼-𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝘄𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀
TOCH South Sudan, successfully conducted a two-day Training of Trainers (ToT) for 20 Model Women in Gogrial West and Twic Counties, Warrap State.

The training that started on 21st April – 22nd April 2026, focused on the production of eco-friendly cooking stoves, equipping participants with practical skills to promote sustainable energy solutions and strengthen community resilience.

Participants engaged in practical sessions, including the construction of eco-friendly stoves, with a live demonstration conducted at Wunrok Payam as part of group work and testing. The stoves are designed to significantly reduce firewood consumption, minimize harmful smoke exposure, and protect the environment.

The lead trainer, Adhet Madut Guot, inspired participants with her story:
“𝗜 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁.”

A participant member, Deng Kuol from Wunrok, expressed his appreciation:

The Caritas Norway (CN) Food Security & Livelihood Component is being implemented in Kuach North, Gogrial & Riau Payams of Gogrial West and Wunrok & Turalei Payams of Twic Counties in Warrap State to strengthen resilient and livelihoods among the communities.

𝗧𝗢𝗖𝗛 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘂𝗺𝗮 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗸 𝗣𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗺, 𝗧𝗼𝗻𝗷 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆,
TOCH South Sudan successfully facilitated a one-day Trauma Healing, Psychosocial Support Awareness and Reconciliation Dialogue under the Kong Koc Reconciliation Pillar in Alabek Payam, Tonj North County of Warrap State.

The dialogue on Monday 20/04/2026 brought together traditional leaders, community members, and government officials from both Payam and County levels, creating an inclusive platform for reflection, healing, and collective action.

The engagement marked a significant milestone in strengthening social cohesion within the community. Participants openly shared experiences acknowledged past grievances, and collectively expressed a renewed commitment to forgiveness, reconciliation, and peaceful coexistence.

Speaking during the dialogue, Samuel Majok Bol Wol, a representative from TOCH, emphasized the importance of trauma healing in post-conflict recovery.

“𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘂𝗺𝗮 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗲 𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆,” 𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗱.

Community leader, Chief Maguon Mawien, Appreciated TOCH for the Support and echoed their commitment, underscoring the importance of sustaining peace beyond the dialogue.

Local leadership further highlighted the need to expand peacebuilding efforts to neighboring communities affected by displacement and conflict.

We were honored to host Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) Country Director, Anne Cathrine Seland, and Head of Programme, Ayen Aleu, during their courtesy visit on Wednesday 22/04/2026 to our Women and Girls Friendly Space in Eastern Bank, Wau, Western Bahr El Ghazal State.

It was an inspiring opportunity to witness the tangible difference our collaborative efforts are making on the ground.

During the visit, the delegation engaged directly with women and girls, hearing heartfelt stories of resilience, growth, and renewed hope.

She encouraged TOCH to continue its dedicated work with the same passion and commitment.

The impact is tangible. As a direct result of life skills training and targeted support, women participants have established small businesses, strengthened their financial independence and reduced reliance on external support. Their stories reflect not only economic empowerment but also dignity and confidence restored.

In addition, four girls have successfully enrolled in school, paid their fees, and secured school uniforms opening doors to a brighter future align to our commitment of support girl child education.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to NCA for the ongoing partnership and support that make these achievements possible. Together, we are creating sustainable change and empowering communities to thrive.
