Lainya County Security Coordinator Leads Delegation to Assess Damaged Farms

The Security Coordinator of Lainya County, Hon. Charles Leju, this morning led a delegation to visit farms destroyed by Dinka Bor cattle herders.
The visit aimed to assess the damage and engage with affected farmers and cattle keepers. Hon. Charles Leju directed the cattle keepers to vacate the area immediately, but they requested a two-day grace period.
Mr. Wani, a Mundari chief, appreciated the county administration's efforts in dialogue and promised compensation for destroyed properties.
The county administration urges citizens to remain calm as they work towards resolving the issue.

Commissioner of Lainya County Launches 2nd Bishop's Annual Youth Tournament 2026

The Commissioner of Lainya County, Hon. Robert Lasu John Morris, today officially launched the 2nd Bishop's Annual Youth Tournament 2026 at Lainya Freedom Square.
The tournament, organized by the Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Yei, under the themed "Let the youth be Agents of peace and unity." The event runs from January 10-19, 2026, and features various activities.
In his remarks, Hon. Robert Lasu John Morris emphasized the importance of youth empowerment and the role of sports in promoting peace and unity.
"Today, we celebrate the energy, creativity, and potential of our youth. I encourage all participants to uphold the values of sportsmanship and teamwork," said Hon. Robert Lasu John Morris.
The tournament brings together youth from across the counties of central equatoria, showcasing their talents and skills.
