South Sudan: A Nation at the Brink – Choose Peace Now.

By Stella Kitale Swaka✍️

Our nation is gripped by a devastating crisis. Innocent lives are being shattered by relentless violence, forcing displacement and unimaginable suffering. As leaders of this transitional government, we implore you, prioritize the people of South Sudan above all else. Cease hostilities immediately. Engage in direct, high-level dialogue to end this bloodshed. This conflict, where our own soldiers and civilians perish at our hands, is a tragedy. South Sudan deserves peace, not political maneuvering.

We fought for independence to build a peaceful nation where everyone could live freely and happily. That dream is fading. Instead of unity, we see division based on tribe. Instead of progress, we see suffering and bloodshed. This is not the future we wanted. We must stop this cycle of conflict and put our people above politics.

To my fellow South Sudanese, especially the youth: I know how you feel. Don't let division win. Reject tribalism, hate speech, and misinformation . Use social media to promote peace, not violence. Remember, our strength is in unity. True peace comes when we stand together as one nation.

My heart goes out to the families who have lost loved ones.

The future of South Sudan is in our hands. Choose peace. Choose unity. Choose a South Sudan where everyone can live without fear.

If you seek to fell a tree, aim for the roots, not the leaves, for only then will it truly die.
I meant to solve a problem, attack its base, for a lasting “SOLUTION”.
