SPLM to Hold Press Conference Over Nhial Deng Nhial’s 18-Page Declaration

The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) National Secretariat has announced a press conference to be held tomorrow at 10:00 AM at the SPLM Plaza in Juba.

The event comes in response to a recently circulated 18-page letter authored by Nhial Deng Nhial, a former senior member of the SPLM, which has sparked significant political discourse across South Sudan.

In the letter, Nhial sharply criticized the SPLM leadership, accusing the party of abandoning its founding principles and failing to meet the expectations of the South Sudanese people.

He further declared the establishment of a new political organization, the South Sudan Salvation Movement (SSSM), positioning it as an alternative to what he described as a stagnating SPLM.

Party officials have confirmed that the press briefing will address the contents of Nhial’s declaration, offering the SPLM’s official response to the allegations and outlining its stance on the formation of the SSSM. The leadership is expected to reaffirm its commitment to national unity and provide clarity on its strategic direction moving forward.
