Why We Chose Nakitun

Imagine living in a community of 5,000 people without a health facility.

Imagine a mother going into labor at night and having to travel more than 5 kilometers in darkness to seek help.

Imagine children growing up without regular access to immunization services.

This is the reality of Nakitun Village in Rajaf Payam, Juba County.

When our team first visited the community for Community Health Evangelism, we saw not only the challenges but also the resilience of the people. We knew that healthcare could no longer wait.

That is why Community Preventive Medical Care (CPMC) South Sudan launched the Nakitun Mobile Medical Unit and began constructing the Nakitun Community Health Center with support from our parners and donor (Samaritan Purse and Ministry of Health).

We believe every person deserves access to quality healthcare regardless of where they live.

The journey has begun, but we cannot do it alone.

CHE (Community Health Evangelism) Program

CHE training in Nakitun village concluded successfully yesterday. 45 participants attended the training, drawn from Nakitun, Queen's village, Moroyok, and Tamanya Biyut. The training is centered on empowering the local communities to live wholistic lives. One should be able to meet the spirutual and phyiscial needs.

Community ownership of the developmental programs where they should be able to use the locally available resources and independency mindset is the main goal of the training.

What stood out most: One participant gave his life to Christ. "I was better off working as a driver in one of the NGO, but then in the last couple of years, I lost my way. I became a drunkard, angry person and problematic in the family. The training I received today made me to reflect on my life and I believe I must be back to my old self with Christ being my Guide" Says Mr. Benda.
