A RADIO STATION THAT promotes FARMERS AND THEIR ACTIVITIES IN THE EASTERN REGION OF SIERRA LEONE

GOVERNMENT SHOULD BE SERIOUS ABOUT THE LIVELIHOODS OF THE PEOPLE.

A government that cares for it citizens should talk uprightly base on the prevailing situation.

Three days ago, a press release from the petroleum regulatory authority stated the that there is no fuel shortage in the country after they learnt that fuel hoading is all over country leaving citizen in suffering.

Since the released no action is taken to ensure that those filling station that have decided to unjustly closed are checked and ordered to sell to the public; which the authority has the power to do.

In kenema almost all filling stations are closed with people hopelessly quequing for petrol.

The seriousness of this government towards it citizens is on test.

Fuel is an essential commodity that has multiplier effect on all economic activities in Sierra Leone. and should be placed under serious observation by authorities that are charged with that responsibility and are paid from the tax payers money.

FINANCE MINISTRY BLUNDERS AGAIN.

Principals of junior secondary schools that received girl child school fees refund for 2016-2017 are going through sleepless night thinking as how they should run the first term of 2019/2020 school period.

It could be recalled that recently, the ministry of finance published a list of disbursement of fees subsidies to government and government assisted schools across Sierra Leone for the first term of 2019/2020 school year.

After checking their various accounts, the principals realized that what they were expecting for first term is not the amount sent but later received a memo from the district directorate of education that the ministry of finance has deducted the money they received as girl child school fees refund for the year stated above of which there were put under serious pressure to refund those monies to parent; which they did.

"We are embarrassed with such action by the finance ministry, they sent us the money to give bact the parent and now they have cutdown our sum. Which parent will be ready to give back the money after four months gone?" The principals lamented.

This is the third time the ministry of finance has made suchblunder within two years; the first time was double payment to teachers, and nurses and now girl child school fees refund.
Many have described such act as a complete sabotage to the slpp government and if such embarrassement is not impede, it it will proof right people's perception that the finance ministry is incompetent to handle the consolidated fund of Sierra Leone.

PATRIOTIC SIERRA LEONEANS AWARDS KENEMA CITY MAYOR.

A humanitarian organization based in Freetown patriotic Sierra leoneans has on the 24th October 2019 presented a certificate of recognition to mayor of kenema city council for his tremendous developments in the municipality of kenema.

The head of the team to kenema Peter M. Conteh said three mayors were nominated from Bo, mankeni and kenema city councils of which they did background checks through consultations with different stakeholders across the nominated areas.

He said after thorough checks and public perception, mayor Baio was rated best among the three, therefore the organization came over to kenema to present the award.

"This is our first time to meet with you but information about you with regards development made you 'mayor of the year' (2019)and we encouraged you to continue this direction as assured you with our organisation's support" he stated.

Patriotic Sierra leonean was formed after the 50th anniversary of Sierra Leone's independence in 2010 with a theme: "put salone fus" with the objective to raise awareness on patriotism and love for our country no matter the political belongings.

Receiving the award in his office at 7 maada Bio street in kenema, his worship the mayor of kenema city council Thomas Baio described the award as ' inspiration to do more for his people' and dedicated it to the people of the municipality for their support towards the development undertaken in less than two years in office as mayor.

His said this year alone he has received More than three awards from different organizations including foreign organization that awarded him as peace ambassador.

"Your consideration will not go in vain, I was elected to serve the people of kenema and that I will continue to do unhindered through out my tenure of office" he stated.
