*5000 Applied for New Police Recruitment*

Up to five thousand people across all genders have applied to form part of the 2025 Sierra Leone Police recruitment exercise.

On Saturday, the applicants sat to a recruitment entrance examination at five centres across five regions of the country.

The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) needs three thousand from this number in personnel preparation for the 2028 presidential election.

The current strength of the force stands around 14,000. SLP is projecting to have had 25,000 personnel before the 2028 election.
