I write to you as a concerned citizen of Sierra Leone who deeply values the peace, unity, and democratic integrity of our nation.

Your recent appointment by His Excellency Julius Maada Bio as Chief Electoral Commissioner has generated significant public debate and concern. The main opposition party, All People's Congress (APC), has publicly raised allegations regarding your involvement in the 2023 general elections—elections which were widely criticized by both local and international observers for lacking transparency.
As you are aware, the credibility of any electoral body is fundamental to the stability of a nation. Public trust is not just important—it is essential. When a substantial portion of the population questions the impartiality of the individual leading the electoral process, it creates tension, division, and uncertainty about the future.

If indeed you hold Sierra Leone close to your heart and are committed to its peace and democratic progress, I respectfully urge you to consider stepping down from your position. Such a decision, though difficult, would demonstrate statesmanship, patriotism, and a willingness to put national interest above personal ambition.

History has shown that sometimes the greatest act of leadership is sacrifice—for the sake of unity, justice, and lasting peace. Your resignation could help restore public confidence in the electoral system and pave the way for a more inclusive and credible democratic process.

Sierra Leone has come a long way in maintaining peace, and it is the responsibility of all leaders to safeguard that hard-earned stability.
