Today, my dad officially retired from his job as a security guard at the Bank of Sierra Leone. But his story is so much bigger than that.

He came from a small village Rokoron Madusia (Mile 91) with nothing but dreams and determination. He worked hard every single day, through rain and sun, to build a life not just for himself, but for all of us.

He’s the kind of man who gives without thinking twice from raising other people’s kids to helping young people in the community and supporting projects that help others. He never looked for praise. He just did what needed to be done.

To me, he’s more than a dad. He’s my role model. My teacher. My inspiration.
Everything I know about hard work, kindness, and being there for others I learned from him.

I pray that one day I’ll be the kind of man he is.
Strong, humble, giving, and full of heart.

You’ve done well, Papa. Your journey has made all of us better.
We’re proud of you. We love you. And we thank you.

When people ask you what you do for a living, they want to know the level of respect to accord you.
