BREAKING: Water Supply to Parts of Freetown Temporarily Shut Down Tonight - Guma Announces

The Guma Valley Water Company has announced a temporary shutdown of water supply across parts of Freetown today, 6 March 2026, to allow urgent repairs on major transmission pipelines.

According to a public notice issued by the utility company, water supply will be suspended from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. (8 hours) while engineers carry out critical maintenance work.

The repairs include:
β€’ Fixing a burst 28-inch transmission pipeline at Pogodon, Hamilton
β€’ Replacing a faulty washout valve on the 22-inch pipeline at Pogodon
β€’ Replacing another faulty washout valve on the 28-inch pipeline at Mambo

They dΓ―ed on March 1, 2026 in Port Shuaiba, Kuwait, during an unmanned aircraft system attack. All Soldiers were assigned to the 103rd Sustainment Command.
