*PPRC Grants APC 6-Month Extension*

The Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) has granted a six-month extension to the current leadership of the All People's Congress (APC) party, allowing them to continue leading the party beyond their original three-year term.

According to the PPRC ruling on February 13, the extension is made under Section 39(5) of the Political Parties Act 2022 and revokes Section 39(5) of the PPRC Act 2022. The Commission directs the current National Executive Committee (NEC), National Advisory Committee (NAC), and other elected bodies of the APC party to provide leadership for the six-month period.

The ruling also stipulates that if the extension expires before the National Delegates' Conference, the (IEMC) will oversee elections, and the APC party leader in Parliament will form a five-member committee, comprising representatives from each of the country's five regions, to administer the party until the conference.

This development is expected to ensure stability within the APC party as it prepares for its National Delegates' Conference.
