SEVENTH WONDER - ETERNAL FLAME

Here is the promised cover song, also out on streaming platforms today.

With such a diverse group of people with tastes in music ranging from Death and Carcass, through Michael Jackson and Otis Redding, agreeing on a cover is haaaard! :-)
I trust you already read my earlier post regarding why we chose to release a cover, but in short we didn't want to "waste" an album track thereby delaying the album.
So, we tossed ideas back and forth and finally settled on this old rocker from John Norum's first solo album Total Control, released in 1987 right after he quit Europe. Me and Johan have been warming up and goofing around with this riff for as long as we've known each other, so since '98/'99 I guess. For us it is also super cool that it was penned by Marcel Jacob. I remember Marcel told me he wrote pretty much the whole album, which you can tell! He then came back to John with the sequel written, which John rejected because he wanted to write more himself, and voilà: Talisman was born. I therefore view this album as Talisman's incognito debut... Anyway, we did play around with it a bit to SW:ify it some, but of course it is an 80s rocker and is in no way indicative of the sound of the album. But at least you get to hear Mattias belt it out properly and all five us playing together for the first time.
