Raport al Băncii Mondiale şi Biroului Internaţional al Muncii:

Instabilitatea de pe piaţa muncii are consecinţe atât asupra celor ce muncesc, cât şi asupra familiilor acestora, însă conduce şi la pierderi de productivitate. Abilităţile nu mai sunt aceleaşi din cauza mutării angajaţilor dintr-un domeniu de activitate într-altul, dar mai ales din cauza perioadelor lungi de inactivitate.

Cu cât durează mai mult perioada de instabilitate, cu atât se pierd plusurile de productivitate câştigate în ultimii ani, lăsând un spaţiu restrâns pentru o eventuală evoluţie profesională sau pentru properitate în viitor.
