📣GeoDRR news. At the SRA-E (Society for Risk Analysis - Europe The Society for Risk Analysis) Conference (Alicante, Spain, May 26-29, 2026), Sergio Molina Palacios, PhD, Prof. at UA, presented, among other things, the “Geomatics for Disaster Risk Reduction” (GeoDRR) Project.
As a refresher, the GeoDRR Project (2020-2025), implemented under the 🇪🇺 European Union’s Erasmus CBHE program, aimed to launch GeoDRR master’s degree programs at six Asian universities.🌏
The project was carried out by the following Consortium:

📣GeoDRR news. Events organized by institutions participating in the GeoDRR Project provide an opportunity to promote the MSc program in Geomatics Disaster Risk Reduction GeoDRR.

One such event was World Water Day 2026. It was celebrated at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) on May 16, 2026, at Padang Kawad in Penang. 💧🌍

➡️The event, held under the patronage of the Chief Minister of Penang, attracted over 1,500 participants. The celebrations included a wide range of activities, such as the Water Run, watercolor and painting contests, exhibitions, educational booths, and community programs aimed at promoting water conservation and environmental sustainability.

➡️Through its exhibition booth, the USM Faculty of Humanities presented, among other things, master’s degree programs in Geomatics for Disaster Risk Reduction and other interesting scientific and educational initiatives.
