🌍 As part of the AquaLoop Interreg SB project, a Master's student in Aquaculture from the Universität Rostock completed a two-month research stay at the University of Gdansk!
🧪The internship supported the goals of the - Testing hashtag Applications in Recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) to improve aquaculture circularity potential in the SB region — aiming to boost aquaculture circularity in the South Baltic region
🔬 The work included: Reconditioning shrimp aquaculture effluents for microalgae cultivation: Selecting algal strains tolerant to higher salinity, Biochemical analysis of algal biomass (pigments, proteins, lipids, carbohydrates), Evaluating its potential for commercial use in feed, biotech & bioenergy
🤝This exchange fostered international collaboration and gave valuable hands-on experience in sustainable aquaculture innovation.

🦐From daily system care to🦐 thesis research on functional feed additives, their contributions were vital to advancing circular aquaculture in the South Baltic!
