اپنے مختصر کیریئر کے دوران، انہوں نے پانچ بڑے دہشت گرد حملوں کا مقابلہ کیا، اور ان تمام حملوں کی تشویشناک بات یہ تھی کہ حملہ آور خودکش بمبار تھے جو اسلحہ اور گولہ بارود سے لیس تھے۔ ان کا مشن یکطرفہ تھا: زیادہ سے زیادہ لوگوں کو مارنا۔ ان حملوں میں 2014 کا پشاور اسکول حملہ (اے پی ایس)، باچا خان یونیورسٹی، اور کرسچن کالونی حملہ شامل ہیں۔ یاد رہے کہ ان تمام حملوں میں وہ ہمیشہ جائے وقوعہ پر داخل ہونے والے پہلے سپاہی ہوتے تھے۔ باچا خان یونیورسٹی کے واقعے میں وہ سب سے آگے (فرنٹ پر) تھے۔

پشاور میں ایک سال خدمات انجام دینے کے بعد، ان کا تبادلہ کوئٹہ، بلوچستان کر دیا گیا۔ ابھی صرف ایک مہینہ ہی گزرا تھا کہ وہ افسوسناک دن آ پہنچا۔

شام کا وقت تھا، انہوں نے وردی تبدیل کر لی تھی اور سونے ہی والے تھے کہ ان کے جوانوں نے اطلاع دی کہ کوئٹہ پولیس اکیڈمی پر حملہ ہوا ہے۔ پولیس کے نئے ریکروٹس (رنگروٹ) اپنے ہاسٹلز میں سو رہے تھے اور بالکل نہتے تھے۔ دہشت گردوں نے ان پر اندھا دھند فائرنگ شروع کر دی تھی۔

انہوں نے فوراً اپنا اسلحہ اٹھایا اور اپنی ٹیم کو ایک سیکنڈ میں گاڑی میں سوار ہونے کا حکم دیا۔ چونکہ ان کا اسٹیشن اکیڈمی سے کچھ فاصلے پر تھا، اس لیے وہاں پہنچنے میں چند منٹ لگے۔ اب شدت پسندوں نے بجلی کاٹ دی تھی اور وہ اندھیرے میں ان نئے جوانوں پر گولیاں برسا رہے تھے۔ کیپٹن روح اللہ کو انٹیلی جنس بریفنگ کے ذریعے بتایا گیا کہ تینوں حملہ آوروں نے خودکش جیکٹس بھی پہن رکھی ہیں۔ یہ ایک انتہائی مشکل آپریشن تھا، کیونکہ ایک چھوٹی سی غلطی کئی لوگوں کی جان لے سکتی تھی۔

تھوڑی دیر میں ایک حملہ آور کو گولی مار دی گئی جس کی وجہ سے اسے خود کو دھماکے سے اڑانے کا موقع نہ ملا، دوسرے کو گھیرے میں لے لیا گیا اور اس نے خود کو اڑا لیا۔ اب ایک حملہ آور لاپتہ تھا۔ کیپٹن نے ہاسٹل کے کمروں کی تلاشی شروع کی تو وہ ایک بڑے کمرے میں پہنچے۔

عینی شاہدین کے مطابق:
"ہم بستروں کے نیچے چھپے ہوئے تھے، ہم نے ایک شخص کو دیکھا جو زوردار ٹھوکر مار کر دروازہ کھولتے ہوئے کمرے میں داخل ہوا۔ چونکہ اندھیرا تھا، ہمیں اس کا چہرہ نظر نہیں آیا، بس اس کا اسلحہ چمکتا ہوا دکھائی دیا۔ ہمیں لگا کہ کوئی دہشت گرد کمرے میں داخل ہو گیا ہے اور اب موت یقینی ہے۔

اس نے اونچی آواز میں پوچھا: کیا تم ہمارے لوگ ہو؟
ہم خاموش رہے، اس نے دوبارہ پوچھا: کیا تم ہمارے لوگ ہو؟
پھر اس نے اپنی پہچان ایک سپاہی کے طور پر کروائی۔ ہم نے فوراً جواب دیا: جی سر! ہم پولیس کے رنگروٹ ہیں اور بستروں کے نیچے چھپے ہوئے ہیں۔

اس نے کہا: اپنے ہاتھ اوپر کرو اور فوراً کمرہ خالی کر دو۔
جب ہم کمرہ چھوڑ رہے تھے، کیپٹن دروازے پر کھڑے تھے اور ہم میں سے ہر ایک کے کندھے کو تھپتھپا رہے تھے۔ کمرے کے ایک کونے میں انہوں نے ایک شخص کو چارپائی کے نیچے چھپا ہوا دیکھا۔ انہوں نے اسے للکارا: تم کون ہو؟ اس نے کوئی جواب نہ دیا۔ انہوں نے پھر آواز لگائی: اپنی شناخت ظاہر کرو ورنہ میں گولی مار دوں گا! پھر بھی کوئی جواب نہ آیا۔"

ایک عینی شاہد کے مطابق، کیپٹن کے کمرے میں داخل ہونے سے پہلے، ہم نے ایک شخص کو خاموشی سے کمرے میں داخل ہوتے اور بستر کے نیچے چھپتے دیکھا تھا۔ ہم نے سوچا کہ شاید وہ ہمارا ہی کوئی ساتھی ہے جو دہشت گردوں سے چھپ رہا ہے، لیکن درحقیقت وہ خودکش بمبار تھا۔

جیسے ہی پولیس اہلکار کمرہ خالی کر رہے تھے، وہ خاموش رہا یہاں تک کہ آخری شخص کمرے سے باہر نکل گیا۔ اب کمرے میں صرف کیپٹن اور خودکش بمبار تنہا تھے۔

یہاں اس کہانی کا دردناک حصہ شروع ہوتا ہے:
اس وقت بہترین حکمت عملی کیا ہو سکتی تھی؟ یقیناً بمبار کو فوراً سر یا دل میں گولی مارنا، تاکہ اسے ایک سیکنڈ بھی زندہ رہنے کا موقع نہ ملے۔

لیکن کیپٹن کچھ اور چاہتے تھے۔ وہ اسے زندہ پکڑنا چاہتے تھے تاکہ حملے کے پیچھے چھپے حقائق اور کرداروں کا پتہ لگایا جا سکے۔ اب اسے آپ ایک طرح کا جنون کہہ سکتے ہیں۔ عام طور پر، کوئی بھی شخص خودکش بمبار کے ساتھ ایک کمرے میں رہنے کا خطرہ مول نہیں لے سکتا۔ اگر کوئی ایسا کر بھی لے، تو اس کا اگلا قدم بمبار کو فوراً گولی مارنا ہوگا۔ ایک خودکش بمبار کو زندہ پکڑنا! میرے خدا! یہ عام لوگوں کا کام نہیں!!!

کمرے سے نکلنے والے آخری شخص کے مطابق:
"جیسے ہی میں کمرے سے باہر نکلا، کیپٹن نے خودکش بمبار پر چھلانگ لگا دی!!! اور اس کے فوراً بعد ایک زوردار دھماکہ ہوا۔ میں بے ہوش ہو گیا اور جب ہسپتال میں ہوش آیا تو یہ خبر ملی کہ کیپٹن روح اللہ زخموں کی تاب نہ لاتے ہوئے شہید ہو گئے ہیں۔"

ان کی عمر 26 سال تھی اور 3 ماہ بعد ان کی شادی ہونے والی تھی۔ بعد ازاں، اس وقت کے آرمی چیف جنرل راحیل شریف نے انہیں تمغہِ جرات (بہادری کے اعلیٰ ترین تمغوں میں سے ایک) سے نوازا۔

میڈیا سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے ان کے بھائی نے کہا:
"روح اللہ کی شادی ہونے والی تھی اور والدہ تیاریوں میں مصروف تھیں۔ لیکن آج ہم اپنے گاؤں میں ان کے جسدِ خاکی کا انتظار کر رہے ہیں، جہاں ہزاروں لوگ نمازِ جنازہ کے لیے جمع ہیں۔"

آخر میں، میں یہی کہوں گا کہ انہوں نے اپنی زندگی ضائع نہیں کی، بلکہ انہوں نے اسے ایک عظیم مقصد، اپنے ملک کے دفاع کے لیے قربان کیا۔ انسانیت کے تحفظ کا مقصد۔ ان کی بہادری اور قربانیوں کو آنے والی نسلیں یاد رکھیں گی۔

اللہ ان کی روح کو سکون عطا فرمائے۔

This is Captain Roohullah Mohmand shaheed (Tamgha E Jurrat) .

Studied From Islamia Collegate school peshawar He came from a very well off family, his Father medical doctor while he was the eldest among siblings.

He didn’t throw away his life for useless adventures. He was destined to go away from us at a young age, because he had chosen a life where death was inevitable. His parents wanted him to become a doctor. What he did was join Pakistan Army. After completing training as an officer, he opted for the lite commondo of Pakistan Army.) In lite commondo he was allocated to the Quick Response Group (Again, elite within elite.) His job was to respond within seconds to a terrorist attack in the allocated region.

During his short-span career, he responded to five key terrorist attacks, and the disturbing thing about all these attacks was that the attackers were su***de bombers, while equipped with weapons and ammunition. Their mission was a one-way mission: to kill as many people as possible. These attacks include the 2014 Peshawar school massacre, Bacha Khan University, and the Christian colony attack. Remember, in all of these attacks he was always the first soldier to enter the attacked site. In the case of Bacha Khan University, he was on the Front.

After, serving in Peshawar for a year, he was transferred to Quetta, Baluchistan.

Just a month went by that the sad day arrived.

It was late in the evening, he had changed uniform and was about to go to bed, when he was approached by his men that Quetta Police Academy is under attack. New police recruits were sleeping in their hostels while totally unarmed. The terrorists have started mass shooting them.

He grabbed his weapon, and ordered his team to get in the vehicle in a second. As his station was in a bit distance from the Academy, it took him a few minutes to reach the site.

Now, the militants had cut off electricity and they were shooting these new recruits in the dark. Captain Rohullah was informed through intelligence briefing that the three attackers are wearing su***de jackets too. It was an extremely difficult operation, as a little mistake can take away life of so many people.

In a while, one of the attackers was shot so he didn’t get a chance to detonate his s**t, the other was cornered and he blew himself up. Now, one attacker was missing. The Captain started searching the rooms in the hostel when he came to a large room.

According to eye witnesses:

“We were hiding under beds, we saw a man entered the room while kicking the door with full force. As it was dark, so we didn’t see his face, all we saw his weapon as the light was reflecting on it. We thought a terrorist entered the room and the death is certain.

He uttered loudly: Are you our people?

We were silent and he said again: Are you our people?

Then he identified himself as an SSG soldier. We immediately replied: Yes Sir. We are new police recruits and we are hiding under beds.

He said: Put your hands up and immediately evacuate the room.

When we were leaving the room, captain was standing in door and tapping each one of us on shoulder.

In one corner of the room, he noticed a man hiding under a chorpoy (small bed.) He shouted on him: Who are you? he didn’t reply. He shouted again: Identify yourself or I am going to shoot you? Again, no reply.”

[According to one eye-witness, before the captain entered the room, we noticed a person silently entered the room and got under a bed. We thought of him as our person hiding from terrorists, BUT he actually was a su***de bomber.]

As the police personnel were evacuating the room, he remained silent until the last person left the room.

Now, the captain and the su***de bomber were alone in the room.

Here is the tragic part:

What could possibly be the best strategy at that time?

Of course, to shoot the bomber immediately, either to the head or heart, wouldn’t give him a chance to live for another second.

BUT the Captain wanted something else. He wanted to capture him alive to understand the “behind-the-scenes” of the attack. Now, this is what you call a touch of madness. Normally, no one can even tolerate the risk of being in the same room with a su***de bomber. If they can, his next immediate action would be to shoot the bomber asap. Capturing a su***de bomber alive! MY GOD!! That’s not what normal people do!!!

According to the last person who left the room:

“As I stepped out from the room, Captain jumped over the su***de bomber!!! And it followed by a massive explosion. I fell unconscious and regained consciousness in a hospital with the news that Captain Roohullah didn’t survive injuries.”

He was 26 years old and was going to get married in 3 months. Later, he was awarded Tamgh-e-juraa’t (one of the highest medals of bravery) by then Army Chief, Gen. Raheel Shareef.

Speaking to Media, his brother said:

Roohullah was about to be married and his mother was busy in preparation. But today we are waiting for his dead body at our village, where thousands of people have come to offer funeral prayer.

So, in the end I would say that he didn't throw away his life, but he did it for a greater cause, a cause to defend his country. A cause to protect humanity. His bravery and sacrifices will be remembered for generations to come.

The chowk and statue now stand as a powerful symbol of bravery, sacrifice, and patriotism. They serve as a reminder that Captain Ruhullah’s courage and dedication to the nation will never be forgotten. This place will inspire generations to come, reminding them of the values of honour, service, and love for the country.
