Google September core update
What I see so far. Pure speculation because only based on my limited data, sites in 2 google accounts, one is insufficient to put all.
1. Quora ranked better, claimed many first positions, and even featured snippet
2. Big sites that covered broad topics also rank for small topics even if they just write a sentence
3. Google NLP seems reserved back. For example, ni****ne topics, after the may core update, google ranks to***co. All sites use ni****ne in titles, h2, and content wipe-off. The helpful content update, google reserve back. Now google reserve back to may core update NLP.
4. Google put more youtube in SERP
5. Google moving the widget up.
6. For Some how-to topics, google keep quora in the first position and ranks youtube (if have any youtube video that the title partially matches) in the second slot. The rest, all marketplaces
7. Some how-to topics, google rank Amazon review page. If your topic selection is reserve engineer amazon review, you may think twice now
8. Reserve engineer facebook still works. Almost all topics un-touch by this update
9. Many gov sites in SERP. Their titles do not serve the intent well.
10. Only the big forums are still in SERP. The small one die.
11. Topical relevancy is not 100% work anymore. An example is how to CLEAN # # # from FINGER. Google ranked cleaning sites in the past. Now google ranks sewing sites. Google favors finger over clean. Big sites such as the spruce also push to page 2 and the weak sites completely wipe off.
12. Link matter, a lot
13. Some sites have an address at footer hit (minor) but all sites that have verified GMB un-touch
14. Expired domains 301 still work
15. All sites more than 5 years old un-touch (again, my limited data only)
16. Some sites that were hit by helpful content updates fully recovered
Cheers and peace
